Second location due to lack of prospects in Prutting
BBW Lasertechnik has been looking for a suitable site in the region for some time now, as the family business has not been given any development prospects in the municipality of Prutting, even after several attempts. Some of BBW's divisions and employees are currently housed in rented buildings in the Prutting industrial estate, which do not offer long-term security and cannot be optimally utilised in terms of infrastructure and logistics. The municipality also did not want to offer a solution for car parking spaces. In addition, further space capacity is required for the future.
Purchase in Edling a great stroke of luck for BBW Lasertechnik
Due to the situation described above, the management of BBW Lasertechnik is delighted that the purchase of the commercial property in Edling has been finalised:
"Edling is a great stroke of luck for us. With its almost 20,000 square metres, the property offers enough planning security for the future of BBW and the next generation, who are ready to take over," says Hans Bürger, founder and managing director of the company, who runs BBW with his son Andreas Bürger. The other two children are also active in the company.
Planning is currently underway to determine how the site and existing buildings can be utilised in the best possible way and where a new building is necessary. An initial area is to be relocated at the end of 2024, but Prutting will remain the main location. In the ongoing process, it is important for BBW to take into account the wishes of the employees with regard to their place of work.
Positive feedback from the municipality of Edling
The initial positive feedback from Mayor Matthias Schnetzer and the municipality of Edling, to whom BBW was able to introduce itself at a municipal council meeting last week, is particularly pleasing for the management of BBW Lasertechnik. The municipality is very pleased that a regional family business wants to develop further in Edling and create jobs.
