Thanks to our many years of experience in precision laser cutting, today we work with many different sectors, and can process particularly thin and filigree materials with material thicknesses down to just 0.01 mm.
Fine laser cutting has been one of our services for more than 20 years – BBW Lasertechnik’s beginnings are closely linked to the production of filigree stents. Since then we have continued to develop both our laser technology and systems engineering in the precision laser cutting of small components.
The latest generation of our self-designed and manufactured systems is equipped with a single-mode QCW laser. Additionally, we continue to use Nd: YAG lasers for precision laser cutting. The special clamping technique featured in our systems allows us to cut components of over 2.5 m in length made of foils just 0.01 mm thick. Furthermore, the combination of the appropriate beam sources and systems adjusted specifically for fine laser cutting allows us to produce very fine cuts up with a gap width of just 0.05 mm that can then be reproduced. Achievable tolerances are in the range of 0.01 mm. We also manufacture fits without any problems.
The spectrum of materials we process ranges from stainless steel to aluminium and copper alloys, through to titanium. We don’t shy away from special applications: most recently, for instance, we produced components made of mu-metal and fibre-reinforced ceramics and processed brazing foils and gold-plated blanks. For highest precision and lowest heat influence we recommend to use our USP laser technology.
