According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, BBW Lasertechnik is one of the ‘most crisis-proof companies of 2025’

Press release: 2025 will be a very challenging year for companies based in Germany. Against this backdrop, the SZ Institute and Creditreform have identified the 536 most crisis-proof companies for 2025. Contract manufacturer BBW Lasertechnik was also included in the ranking. A total of over 100,000 companies were analysed.

Uncertain global situation poses challenge for companies

“The year 2025 is not a stable playing field, but a complex, fragile chain reaction of geopolitical tensions, technological upheavals, ongoing skills shortages, and regulatory pressure,” is how the Süddeutsche Zeitung describes the current situation for German companies. This makes it all the more important for organizations to be prepared for crises, to keep an eye on global dynamics, and to take the right measures.

Who is crisis-proof? Factors influencing the study

The SZ Institute commissioned the Creditreform Group to conduct the accompanying analysis of the “most crisis-proof companies.” A total of 107,024 companies were included in the study.

Factors influencing the final ranking of the 536 most crisis-proof companies were consistent annual profits, good return on equity, an above-average equity ratio, high liquidity reserves, and a good return on investment. In addition to the financial performance of the companies, structural resilience was also taken into account.

All these factors ultimately formed the final ranking of the 536 most crisis-proof companies in Germany, which also includes BBW Lasertechnik. The results of the study show that, in addition to trade, industry in particular is an important pillar of the German economy and exhibits a high degree of resilience.

BBW Lasertechnik is delighted to receive the award

The family-owned company BBW Lasertechnik, which operates as a contract manufacturer using laser tools for industry, is delighted with the award – but is nevertheless feeling the current challenges in its own business:

“Despite the long-standing difficulties on the global market, we still had a strong last year. This year, the effects are clear – in the form of below-average order intake and a decline in sales,” says Andreas Bürger, managing director of BBW Lasertechnik GmbH. Customer demand is simply lower than in recent years, across all industries.

The company is monitoring the current “crisis” very closely and is also taking measures, e.g., through instruments such as overtime reduction and short-time working. The latter was suspended again in August and September after two months. However, the big upturn is still not happening – which is in line with the current environment.

BBW Lasertechnik is optimistic about the future, however, as it is active in socially relevant (trend) industries, e.g., e-mobility for rail transport and industrial trucks, mechanical and plant engineering, the electrical industry, and medical technology.
