Edling, Oct. 29, 2026 – The family-owned company BBW Lasertechnik welcomed Edling’s Mayor Matthias Schnetzer, Deputy Mayor Nicole Bauer-Schäfer, and nearly the entire city council to its new production facility in Edling. The high level of interest in the new facility underscores the importance of the construction project for the company, the community, and the regional economy.
The guests were welcomed by the Bürger family of business owners, construction manager Josef Liebl, and the new plant manager, Ulrich Unterseer. Following a welcome address by managing directors Hans and Andreas Bürger, the municipal representatives were given a tour of the new production facilities. The construction manager also provided information on the planning, implementation, and unique features of the construction project. To wrap up the event, there was time for an open discussion over drinks and snacks.

Although space was available at the previous site in Prutting, it did not offer sufficient room for expansion. As a result, individual departments had to be housed in rented buildings as a stopgap for years. These buildings were not optimally suited to BBW's infrastructure needs and did not offer long-term security.
In Edling, by contrast, the municipality enabled BBW to set up a modern production facility quickly and with minimal bureaucracy. After a construction phase of just one year, the new production hall, with an area of approx. 7,500 m², is now complete. With the new site, BBW Lasertechnik is creating important foundations for the future of the company, which is being continued in its second generation by Andreas, Kristina and Matthias Bürger.
The new site in Edling will be used in particular for the series production of new customer projects. One focus is battery manufacturing, for example for drones. In doing so, BBW Lasertechnik strengthens its expertise in demanding industrial laser processes and, at the same time, creates the spatial prerequisites for further sustainable growth.
The Bürger entrepreneurial family is particularly pleased about the great interest and support shown by the municipal council. The visit makes it clear that the settlement of the family business in Edling is being received very positively by both BBW and the municipality.
"With our new site in Edling, we are laying the foundation to reliably transfer customer orders into series production. We are especially pleased with the open and constructive cooperation with the municipality and the tangible support on the ground," said Andreas Bürger, Managing Director of BBW Lasertechnik.
"The new BBW Lasertechnik site is a strong signal for Edling as a business location. The company is investing in modern jobs, technological expertise and long-term prospects in our municipality. We are pleased about this collaborative development," said Matthias Schnetzer, First Mayor of the Municipality of Edling.
So far, a few individual machines have been moved into the still empty halls. BBW and the municipality of Edling are all the more eager to see how the new site develops over the coming years.
